The Royal Road

Retraces the logic of Einstein to demonstrate that space and time are curved or warped by the distribution of matter in the universe, and that matter and energy move along this curvature of space/time. Four-dimensional geometry is shown to be a cornerstone of the general theory of relativity.

Kham: Space & the Act of Space

Loading...
The film is documentation of an exhibition organized in 1986 called "Kham". The documentary highlights the five elements and looks at space as a concept within which life style delves. It shows how the world is surrounded by the cosmic water. Again it talks about the root of the universe and the universe being the body of the cosmic man and Kham is the space where it sustains. It looks at civilization on timeline and fathoms the architecture to look at the space within its dynamic meaning and show how space travel through time within the spectrum of creativity. The film is an enquiry to understand the world views of space through images. Thus in short the film showcases how Kham as space remained cosmic manifestation where from idea of life, life style got encoded in various symbols.

Kala: A Multimedia Presentation on Time, December 1990 - February 1991

Loading...
"The film documents on epoch making exhibition organized by IGNCA called "Kala" where one enters the state of timelessness that lies un-manifest. There after, from blinking of the eylid to the movement of the sun, the duration, sequence and movement of time are understood. The astrology's linkage of time and notion about the space within the celestial bodies form another highlight of the "Kala" theme. The film documents the cosmic elements portrayed through concept of manifest starting from un-manifest to the level of paintings and portrayals. Along side, it depicts duration of time in a day through the sun dial. It also reflects upon the various symbols of iconography and architecture and image and imagination of cosmic tree to understand wheel symbolizing the passage of time includ [...]

Time, Space and Being: Are Space and Time Just a Human Fantasy?

We think space and time are the structure of the universe. Yet Einstein argued 'space and time are modes by which we think and not conditions in which we live.' And philosophers, Kant and Heidegger, saw space and time as the framework of thought not the world. Are space and time just a human fantasy? The Panel Physicist and author of The End of Time Julian Barbour, Cambridge metaphysician Huw Price and philosopher of science Michela Massimi think outside space and time.
