La Ligne de Partage des Eaux

The watershed lies within the perimeter of the Loire catchment area, from the source of Vienne on the Millevaches plateau to the estuary. The watershed, not the Loire river! That is to say the plane inclined towards the sea, the totality of the irrigated space, not only the line of the river. That is, business parks and wetlands, ditches and highways, meeting rooms and building sites. Because water is everywhere, in the ground, in the groundwater, in the air, circulating, infiltrating, evaporating and everywhere connecting the territories between them, denoting their interdependence, making us dream of their solidarity. The watershed is not only this geographical line that separates watersheds but it is also the political line that connects individuals and groups who have someth [...]

La Loi du Marché

"In The Measure of a Man, Vincent Lindon ... gives his finest performance to date as unemployed everyman Thierry, who must submit to a series of quietly humiliating ordeals in his search for work. Futile retraining courses that lead to dead ends, interviews via Skype, a workshop critique of his self-presentation by fellow jobseekers; all are mechanisms that seek to break him down and strip him of identity and self respect. In his award-winning performance, Vincent Lindon is quietly heartbreaking, revealing the soul of the unemployed"--Container.

Westfront 1918: Vier von Der Infanterie

G.W. Pabst brought the war movie into a new era with his first sound film, a mercilessly realistic depiction of the nightmare that scarred a generation, in the director's native Germany and beyond. Digging into the trenches with four infantrymen stationed in France in the final months of World War I, Pabst illustrates the harrowing ordeals of battle with unprecedented naturalism, as the men are worn away in body and spirit by firefights, and the disillusion that greets them on the home front.
