The Patient's Story: Ellen Foster

Loading...
Kaye Gibbons, a North Carolina writer, wrote "Ellen Foster", a novel about an eleven year old who has been neglected and abused. The development of this character leads the reader to consider such issues as: (1) Implications for social workers, (2) Who will "Ellen" be when she grows us? (3) How will "Ellen" love?, and (4) What kind of future patient might "Ellen" be? This video tape includes a dramatic monolog adapted from the book and is a demonstration of the power of the arts to bring to life sensitive topics needing the concern of health care professionals.
