Summary
"Among the overwhelming amount of inventions and patents Thomas Edison held, none was as controversial than the first chair used for electrocution. The late 1880s begins the "War of the Currents," as two rival technologies - AC and DC - battle it out for dominance in the utility industry. Edison wants to prove that Westinghouse's alternating current is much deadlier than the Edison direct current. To prove the dangers of "AC," Edison builds an electric chair powered by Westinghouse's AC system and axe murdered William Kemmler is its first victim - in an extended and horrific death. Thomas Edison's electric chair is a machine of dark design that is still being used today."--Http://media.aetv.com.
