  • Engraved title with portrait medallion at each of the four corners (four conquistadors involved in the civil wars in Peru during the middle of the sixteenth century to restore power to Spain: Pedro de la Gasca, Gabriel de Rojas Cordova (c. 1480-1549), Diego Centeno, General Pedro Alonso de Hinojosa); Spanish royal coat of arms at center; six vignettes of battle scenes in Peru, Panama, etc.

  • Vol. 8 of the 8-volume set. The set is divided into eight periods, comprising all the years from 1472-1554. The first 4 decades and the Descripción were printed in 1601 by Juan Flamenco. The last 4 decades, continuing the history from 1532 to 1554, were printed in 1615 by Juan de la Cuesta.
  • Vol. 8, decada octaua covers the years 1546-1554.
  • Error in paging: p. 149 misprinted as 151, 202 as 204, 220 as 122, 230 as 330, 231 as 233, 234 as 334; 257-276 skipped in numbering.
