  • Civil war song sheet in four verses; without music. Printed in blue on illustrated letter paper, with verso of sheet ruled in blue.
  • First line: Traitor, spare that flag.
  • With advertisement "Ten illustrated Songs on Notepaper, mailed to any Address on receipt of 50 cts. Published by Chas. Magnus, 12 Frankfort St. N.Y." at bottom of sheet.
  • Charles Magnus published as an individual at 12 Frankfort St., new York, between 1860 1nd 1867. Works which also include Washington, D.C. imprint were published about 1863 and 1864.
  • Hand-colored headpiece features, on the left, a vignette of 2 women, one of whom is holding a flag with motto "The Union now and forever" and, on the right, a circular vignette of a farm scene with motto "Freedom and unity." Magnus 46. Song not listed with this headpiece in the Library Company of Philadelphia's American song sheets, cf. no. 2361ff.
