Summary
The hinge for the lid is attached to the pitcher's handle. Inside is a paper with Jefferson Randolph Kean's address on it and writing which states: "Heavy Pewter pitcher, with attached lid, about 7 in high and 4 in in diameter, originally at hospital of French Panama Canal Company; presented to Col. J.R. Kean, Med. Corps, U.S. Army, in early years of 20th century, during a visit by him to the Panama Canal Zone."
