Abstract
In Roanoke, Va., an unidentified WSLS-TV reporter interviews Richard Poff shortly after his election to the U.S. Congress as the sixth district representative. Poff speaks highly of opponent John Whitehead, thanking him for his courtesy in his campaign and in conceding the election, and thanks voters and those who devoted time to campaigning. Poff asserts that he harbors no ill will toward Whitehead's supporters, praising competition between candidates as essential to maintaining a vital, vigorous government and pledging to represent all citizens of the district "without bias or favor."
