Abstract
Members of the Roanoke Life Saving Crew try to free Earl Joseph Jernell from his crumpled car after it collided with a Norfolk and Western Railroad freight train. Jernell's son Jerry is also shown without serious injury. Workers finally extricate Jernell from the twisted metal; he was not seriously injured.
