The WSLS-TV News Film Collection, 1951-1971, comprises anchor scripts and 16mm news film created by Roanoke, Va., television station WSLS. A grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities funded the preservation and digitization of this collection.

Students crowd an auditorium at Washington and Lee University during the 1956 Mock Democratic Convention. At the podium, a student nominates Frank John Lausche for the candidacy; the audience cheers and erupts into song. Footage shows signs proclaiming the names of states, as well as campaign signs reading "Stevenson for President," "Harriman," and "Ohio Looks to Lausche."
