Vice presidential candidate Spiro T. Agnew arrives at Woodrum Field Airport in Roanoke, Va., to much fanfare from an awaiting crowd. Footage switches to a U.S. Republican Party rally at Roanoke College in Salem, Va. At the rally, loud music is played and a large audience holds signs for the Richard M. Nixon campaign. Agnew delivers a speech to much acclaim, claiming his right to limited dissent in a democracy and thereby criticizing the Youth International Party, otherwise known as Yippies, for their radical beliefs.
