Abstract
Roanoke County Board of Supervisors Chairman Lee B. Eddy releases a statement about what occurred at an earlier meeting in Richmond, Va., with Governor Abner Linwood Holton, Jr., Roanoke Vice Mayor Vincent O. Trout, and Councilmember James E. Jones. According to Eddy, the purpose of the meeting was to ask the governor if he would consider referring their grievances to the General Assembly at a special meeting concerning constitutional revisions scheduled for early 1969. The councilmembers wish to pass legislation that would modify current consolidation laws. Eddy says that at the conclusion of the meeting, Governor Holton was sympathetic but could not promise that he could execute their wishes.
