Thirty thousand fans attend the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore; also in attendence are President Eisenhower's son John and his brother Milton, J. Edgar Hoover, and Secretary of the Treasury George Humphrey; the race begins and fans watch intently; Bold Ruler wins with a two-length lead; Vice President Nixon presents trainer Jim Fitzsimmons with the winner's trophy.
