Abstract
A record crowd of 39,357 fans fill Comiskey Park for the Yankees vs. White Sox game; Hank Bauer hits a home run for the Yankees in the third inning; Nellie Fox hits a single, sending Luis Aparicio to third base; Aparicio scores after a pop fly to center field by Earl Torgeson caught by Mickey Mantle; Dick Donovan hits a home run against Enos Slaughter and the Yankees win, 2-1.
