The WSLS-TV News Film Collection, 1951-1971, comprises anchor scripts and 16mm news film created by Roanoke, Va., television station WSLS. A grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities funded the preservation and digitization of this collection.

Abstract
The UCLA football team charges the field through signs spelling "1954;" players push bucking gear and UCLA coach Red Sanders stands with player Gerry McDougall; player Bob Long spits into his hands to warm them up for catching passes; player Bob Davenport practices bucking. The USC football team charges the field and coach Jess Hill leads players in warm-up calisthenics; players practice with dummies and Coach Hill talks with player Jon Arnett while the team holds passing drills.
