In Roanoke, Va., an extremely large concrete beam that was being hauled by a tractor-trailer attracts attention. A Roanoke police patrol car sits smashed into a different tractor-trailer after an accident wherein the tractor-trailer transporting the large concrete beam could not stop and hit the back of the patrol car. No one was injured. A Roanoke citizen enjoys the flickering lights on the city's Christmas tree. At the Roanoke Civitan Club sportsmanship awards, H. C. Broyles introduces longtime football coach Guy Spruhan who then presents a trophy to Arthur F. Waleski, Jr. Treasurer of Roanoke County James E. Peters introduces featured speaker coach Eddie Joyce of Andrew Lewis High School in Salem, Va.
