Abstract
At Apple Orchard Mountain in Bedford County, Va., the U.S. Air Force is in process of building a radar installation. The 649th Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron will operate the station. WSLS-TV reporter Jim Moffatt interviews commanding officer Major H.C. Sharkey, who says the radar center is intended to detect enemy aircraft.
