Abstract
At the Virginia State Capitol in Richmond, Va., Senator J. Sargeant Reynolds denounces the "Old Guard" for controlling the Virginia General Assembly. Reynolds, a moderate Democrat, supports an alliance that has coalesced in the Senate of Virginia between moderate Demorats and Republicans in order to combat the Old Guard. Reynolds faults the Old Guard for a breach of faith, commenting that they dominate the Virginia General Assembly through committees, and hopes that the alliance will unite this afternoon to oppose the Old Guard.
