Virginia Western Community College in Roanoke, Va., is expanding its curriculum and schedule to include Saturday morning classes. Doctor Harold H. Hopper, president of the institution, explains that busy students who work during the day or have other responsibilities are unable to attend regular weekday classes. According to Dr. Hopper, the fundamental priority of a community college is to provide educational services to adults, further deepening the need for Saturday classes.
