The WSLS-TV News Film Collection, 1951-1971, comprises anchor scripts and 16mm news film created by Roanoke, Va., television station WSLS. A grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities funded the preservation and digitization of this collection.

Abstract
Ballard Pinkard, chairman of the Roanoke, Va., Jaycees' "Clean Up, Paint Up, Fix Up" urban beautification initiative, presents cash awards to three Roanoke, Va., sanitation workers for their conscientious service. After a brief conversation with WSLS-TV reporter Joe Moffatt, the sanitation workers drive away in a garbage truck, the side of which reads "YOU Can Help Us Keep Roanoke Clean."
