Delegate George C. Rawlings, Jr., issues a public statement in Richmond, Va., castigating Governor Mills E. Godwin, Jr. In the face of the upcoming gubernatorial election, the governor of Virginia called for the Democratic candidates to accommodate one another and for the party to unite. Delegate Rawlings criticizes Governor Godwin for neglecting to work toward this goal, listing efforts the governor could have made but did not, such as supporting certain candidates or campaigning throughout the state.
