Abstract
In Roanoke, Va., former U.S. Assistant District Attorney for the Western District of Virginia Leigh B. Hanes announces his intention to seek the Republican nomination as a candidate for the 21st district seat of the Virginia Senate. Hanes asserts his belief that successful government can be attained only by "vigorous competition at the ballot box."
