Abstract
Roanoke, Va., Mayor Vincent Wheeler discusses Roanoke's declining population numbers, arguing that much of the decrease is due to the American Viscose Corporation transferring its employees out of the city. Wheeler suggests that establishing new industries and businesses in Roanoke could help halt the population decline, and he expresses his confidence in several business prospects. Asked to comment on developments in Roanoke's annexation project, Wheeler describes the property currently under consideration for incorporation into the city.
