The WSLS-TV News Film Collection, 1951-1971, comprises anchor scripts and 16mm news film created by Roanoke, Va., television station WSLS. A grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities funded the preservation and digitization of this collection.

Abstract
Footage shows exhibits at a traffic safety exposition in Roanoke, Va. Banners read "Your Plans for Tomorrow Depend on Safety Today!" Two miniature street scenes are displayed next to each other, one reading "Uniformity" and the other, cluttered with conflicting street signs, reading "Confusion." A visitor takes a test measuring her driving skills, with the assistance of a volunteer. A sign reading "Here Lies a Reckless Driver" is affixed to a casket. A mannequin sits in a wheelchair next to a display of shoes belonging to victims of fatal traffic accidents in Roanoke Valley.
