The WSLS-TV News Film Collection, 1951-1971, comprises anchor scripts and 16mm news film created by Roanoke, Va., television station WSLS. A grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities funded the preservation and digitization of this collection.

Abstract
Wilfreda J. Lytle, Director of Women's Activities for region two of the Federal Civil Defense Administration, explains the details of a pilot study on the disaster preparedness of homes and families, in which Roanoke, Va., has been selected to participate. In attendance are Douglas L. Moore, civil defense coordinator for the state of Virginia, a group of women appointed to a steering committee for the study, and others.
