Linwood Johnson, winner of the Roanoke, Va., soap box derby, arrives at Woodrum Field Airport for his flight to Akron, Ohio, where he will compete in the All-American Soap Box Derby finals. After shaking hands with two pilots and a flight attendant, Johnson says goodbye to his family and to Roanoke Mayor Roy Webber and boards a plane reading "Welcome Linwood Johnson Roanoke Derby Champion."
