Abstract
Leaders of Virginia's Republican Party in the Roanoke, Va., region meet informally at the Hotel Roanoke to discuss the possibility of a holding a state convention to support the abolition of the poll tax, which in Virginia is a prerequisite to voting in all elections. Sitting on sofas and armchairs, local delegates and state senators in attendance include: J. Livingston Dillow, James Turk, Floyd Landreth, George Barnes, Robert Burruss, M. Caldwell Butler, D. Henry Almond, John Hagen, Joe Poff, Rupert Kincer, James Moore, Howard Ellifrits, Peter Gieson, and S. Strother Smith.
