Abstract
Footage shows scenes from John Handley High School in Winchester, Va., during the annual Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival. A conductor directs a choir assembled on the front steps of the school. Texas Congressman Sam Rayburn crowns Daphne Fairbanks "Queen Shenandoah," while Lewis Strauss, head of the United States Atomic Energy Commission, looks on. Fairbanks leads a procession to the seat of honor, attended by a group of children.
