Dave Garroway, host of NBC television's Today Show, disembarks before a large crowd at Woodrum Field Airport in Roanoke, Va., along with fellow Today Show host Jack Lescoulie, television producer Dick McCutcheon, rock-climber Bonnie Prudden, and Kokomo Jr., the chimpanzee. The celebrities arrive in the City of Roanoke in a motorcade, led by a pair of motorcycle escorts, and parade down Main Street with a marching band and a troupe of majorettes, while spectators look on.
