Abstract
Sixteen Naval Marine engineers arrive at Lynchburg Airport to begin specialized training in nuclear maritime operations. Men survey the damage done after a truck driven by Malcolm Gallenger collided with an oncoming train in Vinton. Norma Nunley is named the official Miss Fire Prevention Week in Roanoke and Mayor Vincent Wheeler and Fire Chief J.V. Brown lift her onto a fire truck to pose for pictures.
