Abstract
Virginia Senator J. Sargeant Reynolds remains loyal to the Democratic Party of Virginia, maintaining that Governor Mills E. Godwin Jr., has effectively served his state. Reynolds criticizes the actions of American Independent Party candidate George C. Wallace, chastising him for shunning the Democratic Party in order to run as a third-party candidate. According to Reynolds, if all Democratic candidates followed suit, the party would soon collapse.
