Entrepreneur and business executive William "Bill" Parker was born on February 13, 1955 in Newark, New Jersey. He received his B.A. degree in economics from Denison University in 1976. He began his career in 1976, as a job analyst in the labor relations department of Potomac Electric Power Company (PEPCO). In 1981, he joined Xerox Corporation in the Sales and Marketing Group, leaving for Motorola in 1984 to work in sales. That same year, he and his wife Beverly co-founded Washington Cable Supply, Incorporated, a multi-million dollar inventory control, materials management and logistics company that provides telecommunications and utility products to global businesses and utilities, where he served as president and chief executive officer. In 2002, Parker earned an M.B.A. degree in business and public administration from Southeastern University.
