In 1984, Bolden graduated cum laude from Morehouse College, where he received his B.A. degree in political science. Three years later, in 1987, Bolden received his J.D. degree from the Howard University School of Law. After graduating, Bolden worked as a law clerk for Judge Luke Moore of the District of Columbia Superior Court, as lead counsel in numerous trials for the New York County District Attorney's Office, and eventually as office managing partner of Reed Smith's Washington, D.C. office. Bolden appeared on CNN's Both Sides, ABC's 20/20 and co-hosted on the radio program, Building Bridges for Business.
