  • Engraved title with portrait medallion at each of the four corners (Blasco Nuñez Vela; Cristóbal Vaca de Castro, governor of Peru; Pedro de Valdivia, governor of Chile; Hernando de Soto); Spanish royal coat of arms at center; six vignettes of scenes of battles in Chile and the Gulf of Mexico, the fort and major Spanish city on the Gulf (present-day Mobile), De Soto's retreat to Florida, etc.
  • Dedicated to Luis de Velasco.
  • Imprint from colophon. First colophon on V6 verso, and second colophon (identical to the first) on 3[par.]10 recto.
  • Vol. 7 of the 8-volume set. The set is divided into eight periods, comprising all the years from 1472-1554. The first 4 decades and the Descripción were printed in 1601 by Juan Flamenco. The last 4 decades, continuing the history from 1532 to 1554, were printed in 1615 by Juan de la Cuesta.
  • Vol. 7, decada setima covers the years 1541-1546.
  • Error in paging: p. 198 misprinted as 190, 218 as 118, 220 as 120, and 297 as 299.
  • Signatures: [par.]⁴ A-T⁸ V⁶ 3[par.]¹⁰.
  • Text printed in double columns; head- and tail-pieces, initials and printed marginalia.
  • Includes index (18 unnumbered pages) at end.
