  • On the verso of the first prelim. leaf an explanation is given of the frontispiece "The death of Montgomery" by Norman, who had already engraved the frontispiece "The death of Warren" for the author's "The battle of Bunkers-hill", Phila., R. Bell, 1776, which is "said to be the earliest known specimen of engraving in British America by a native artist".--Sabin, Bibl. amer.
