Summary
This video examines the stories of immigrants who fled to America to escape religious persecution. Included are profiles of Tibetan Tsering, who escaped punishment from Chinese communists; D'vorah and Hirsch Spira, Hasidic Jews who hoped their religious traditions would be preserved in America; and the story of John Ruth, a Mennonite minister and historian, whose ancestor, Hans Landis, was the last of the Anabapist martyrs, and whose death was connected to the immigration of the Amish and Mennonite more than 300 years ago.
