Two drawings, for Alken's "Ideas, accidental and incidental to hunting" (London : Thomas M'Lean, [1826-1830]); each measure 18 x 22 cm. and are mounted on leaf [5] of a volume containing a total of [38] leaves, the remainder of which are blank. The volume is half-bound in red levant morocco.
The upper drawing shows two horses and riders falling after taking a jump and is captioned "This is just to give you an idea of a steeple chase." It was reproduced as the thirty-first plate in the published work. The lower drawing shows a carriage with two horses kicking and rearing and is captioned "I begin to have an idea that this tandem driving is not altogether free from danger." It was reproduced as the thirty-sixth plate in the published work.
