Summary
The collection contains a letter, 1922 March 7, Edwin Arlington Robinson to Phil Stone thanking him for a poem by Swinburne and Stone's comment on it and concludes "I am glad...that you and your friend have found someting in my work that you remember."
The collection also contains a carbon of a typed listing of "Faulkner Material in the possession of Emily Stone and Araminta Johnson," no date.
A small group of material concerns translations of Faulkner from his library at Rowan Oak that were purchased by William Boozer and includes a note from Jill Faulkner Summers to William Boozer [1984], enclosing a list of Faulkner translations; two canceled checks to Jill Faulkner Summers, 1984; copies of two letters from Boozer to Summers, 1984, regarding the purchase; Boozer's hand written list of three additional titles purchased; a list of Faulkner translations in storage at Rowan Oak, annotated by Boozer; and an index card on which Boozer has written "Bought from Malcolm Franklin 1976."
The collection also contains photographs including a dictionary given by Faulkner to Malcolm Franklin, and Faulkner's pipe with authenticating note from Franklin.
The collection also contains photographs and negatives (both copies and originals) by Marshall J. Smith to accompany his article "Faulkner of Mississippi" which was published in the December 1931 issue of "The Bookman," a copy of which is included.
The collection also includes photographs (removed from an album) of Faulkner, 1930-1993, sent by Meta Carpenter Wilde with a letter to Boozer. Photographers represented are J.R. Cofield, Marshall Smith, Phil Mullen, and Kitty Reed.
The collection also includes photographs (removed from an album) of Faulkner, 1955-1973 by J.R. Cofield, Phil Mullen, William C. Connell, Jr., Lola M. Autry, William Boozer, and Martin J. Dain.
The collection also contains two manila envelopes pertaining to the collection.
