Summary
The collection contains affectionate letters and postcards from Eva to relatives and her church, 1924-1932, from Catawba Sanatorium and Pine Camp Hospital where she was hospitalized for tuberculosis. Topics include her niece's school work, her sister's new false teeth, treatment for sore eyes, Red Lane Baptist Church, and her enjoyment of their visits and gifts of flowers and food.
The collection also contains papers from her 1923 wedding to James A. Godwin including a hand drawn map to the home of the Rev. Smith; a civil and a religious marriage certificate; a card from the Metropolitan Baptist Church, Washington, D.C.; and a printed marriage service booklet.
The collection also contains eight family photographs of Utley Reams, Richard Reams, Jr., Harvey Reams with friends, circa 1910-1915, parents Richard S. and Sarah E. Reams, Eva L. Reams, her husband James Godwin, and a wedding portrait of James and Eva Reams Godwin.
There is also a remembrance card for Richard S. Reams.
