Wilson, of Bath County, Virginia, "being upon principle opposed to holding any person in Slavery" signs a document to "liberate, emancipate and forever quit claim to and discharge from my Service my white Woman Slave named Patsy aged about Twenty one Years."
On the verso county clerk Charles L. Francisco notes that the deed was proved in court by Robert Bratton and Benjamin Eagle two of the subscribing witnesses.
