Summary
Rossetti thanks Gosse heartily for his contribution. ("Pending final decision from Whitman, I reckon all amounts as purchase-money of books.") Comments on an article in the Saturday Review which he read; he "of course disliked as well as disdained it extremely." "Buchanan (tho' really I admired the spirit of fervent & generous enthusiasm in wh. He wrote) indulged in more talk talk & scathing sarcasm than were at all wanted⁵they don't mention me one way or other (at wh. I am well pleased) - the main reason being, I suppose, that my letter in the Daily News contained nothing of an aggressive kind."
