Summary
November 21, 1876, letter from John Murrary to Smith inquires about the transit of the planet Venus. Murray has looked over Smith's lectures on the matter and has several questions about conclusions Smith has arrived at. Murray mentions that he does "not remember whether these difficulties presented themselves when [he] was enjoying the privilege of [Smith's] instruction."
Feburary 1877 bill (or receipt) for the tuition of Tucker Williams (son of Dr. J.W. Williams) has mathematical equations in pencil on verso.
