Summary
Correspondence and related personal papers of Frank L. Hereford, as president of the University of Virginia. Topics include Herford's inauguration and resignation, history of the University of Virginia, conflict of interest as president, Carrs Hill, Rotunda restoration, and desegregation at Farmington and the University of Virginia. The collection also contains copies of Board of Visitors minutes, 1909, and the faculty report denying the admission of women, 1893, and speeches delivered by Hereford as well as research material for them including articles about the University of Virginia. There are also remarks by Walter D. Whitehead, a transcript of a conversation between Hereford and Richard M. Brandt, and a poem by Raymond C. Bice.
