Summary
Seymour writes to his brother from camps near Fredericksburg and Falmouth, Va. He describes the bridge laying across the Rappahannock River in the battle of Fredericksburg and the "mud march" afterwards, criticizes Burnside's strategy and theorizes that McClellan would have acted differently and won.
In addition Seymour lists dead and wounded in his regiment, sends "some things which I got over in the city," describes Christmas, gives prices for foodstuffs, and speculates on future movements.
