The collection contains photographs of several African-Americans who may be members, friends or relatives of the Goins family of Charlottesville, Va. Several of the photographs were taken by the Holsinger Studio. Possible subjects include Mary Woodfolk, Thomas Sellers, Pocahontas Sellers and Dorothy Burton.
In addition to the photographs there are scattered obituaries, correspondence and miscellaney. Most pertain to the Goins family of Charlottesville, Va.
Of interest are records from the family Bible of Robert J. Goins and Sarah L. Snead, giving a record of their marriage at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Charlottesville, Va., 1887, and the births, marriages and deaths of children and other family members by marriage including the Sellers and Tonsler families.
The collection also contains a printed article by H. F. Gamble "Industrial education of the Negro youth."
