  • One folded sheet, with printed address "To the Postmaster" on p. [1]; p. [4] is a letter to postmasters telling them "we have taken the liberty to address to you this sheet, containing two circular letters, asking the favor of you to separate them, and place one in a conspicuous place in your Office, and hand the other to the temperance society near you ..." signed "The Executive Committee of the American Temperance Society.
  • The obverse of the sheet (printed to be read as one page, 32 x 20 cm.), with caption title "Periodical Circular of the American Temperance Society" announces a simultaneous meeting of friends of temperance to be held on "Tuesday, the 26th day of February, 1833, in every city, town, and village, in the country, to hear addresses; to form temperance societies in all places in which there are none ... [signed, in print] Respectfully yours, &c., Samuel Hubbard, Pres. Am. Temperance Society, John Tappan -and 4 others] Executive Committee, Boston, November, 1832."
