Letter, 1792 April 14, Philadelphia, to Henry Remsen. Jefferson comments on a defaming pamphlet whose author unmistakable (John Fenno?) He discusess the criminality of a paper money system, the consequences of putting funds in speculative enterprises that may fail and leave the investors with worthless script as in the South Sea Bubble, and mentions reports that the militia had to be called to disperse a mob threatening William Duer.
