  • Translation of "Tyrranies et cruautez des Espagnols perpetrees aux Indes occidentales", a French version by Jacques de Miggrode of de las Casas' "Brevísima relación de la destrucción de las Indias".
  • First English edition.
  • Printer's name from colophon: Imprinted at London at the three Cranes in the Vintree by Thomas Dawson, for William Brome. 1583.
  • Running title: The Spanish cruelties.
  • On the verso of M4 begins a translation of another tract by Las Casas printed in 1552, the Lo que se sigue es vn pedaço de vna carta, etc.; and at O., the abrigment of two others. -- Church 130.
  • Signatures: [par.]⁴ 2[par.]⁴ A-Q⁴ R².
  • Sheets A-N are printed in black letter, the rest of the volume in roman.
  • Title in woodcut border, with initials of T[homas] D[awson] to left and right of lower edge of title panel.
