Contains transcript of Committee markup session on H.J. Res. 240, to institute various measures to make effective governing international fishery agreements (GIFAs) signed by the U.S. with Bulgaria, Romania, Taiwan, East Germany, Soviet Union, and Poland. Bill was favorably reported.
H.R. 2081, cited on cover, is incorporated into H.J. Res. 240. H.R. 2081 amends the Fishery Conservation and Management Act of 1976 to waive required 60-day congressional review period for GIFAs signed before Feb. 15, 1977, and to postpone, from Mar. 1 to May 1, 1977, requirements that foreign fishing vessels maintain permits on board to fish in U.S. fishery conservation zones.
