Summary
Briefing to review sections of Committee Print on the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1972, as passed by the House, to authorize appropriations for construction of certain highways. Provisions include renewed emphasis on urban problems while assuring that the rural program is not reduced; further control of outdoor advertising; and authorization for a DOT study to determine the feasibility of a national system of scenic highways.
Title II, the Highway Safety Act, provides for an expanded highway safety program with increased Federal assistance for safety programs.
